Oil bubbler for NS 14/23 ground joint, filled approximately two-thirds with oil to prevent overpressure in the reactor vessel.
The IKA SY OB 14 oil bubbler is inserted into an NS 14/23 ground joint (sleeve) in the reactor lid, where it acts as a pressure relief device during heating or inert atmosphere operations. It should be filled approximately two-thirds full with oil, with the oil level kept above the inner inlet pipe and below the side outlet. By fitting the oil bubbler in the reactor lid, overpressure within the reaction vessel is safely avoided.
