These platinum plated on copper electrodes are exclusively recommended as the counter electrode in CV (cyclic voltammetry) tests and are not suitable for synthetic reactions. The platinum coating on a copper substrate provides adequate electrochemical performance for analytical CV applications, but offers lower durability than solid platinum electrodes. For electrolysis under harsh solution conditions, the platinum foil electrode or the platinum plated on ceramic electrode are recommended alternatives, as both provide greater longevity. The set contains 2 electrodes, compatible with the IKA ElectraSyn product line.
